For our group here in leicester, leicestershire this cross quarter sabbat is well regarded the second most important sabbat next to samhain.

Betiane is the highcross quarter sabbat of purification and cleansing.

Perhaps Bel the ignitor of fires will bring us warmer weather than what we have had of late even here in Leicester which is normally quite mild in winter let alone spring.

(Other than of course through the domain name dispute case for this domain name which we won).

You will not find any information here about Cinema de Lux, cruise or lacoste. Neither will you be able to check out the latest Apple Mac's.

Next sabbat... yes. And even previous sabbat but Next Fashions quite definitely not. Dining at Carluccio's can neither be looked into here. Want a job at the highcross? or a career in John Lewis. Then again you are in quite the wrong place.

Welcome to the Highcross Quarter web site - Home of Highcross Quarter Sabbat information for Wiccan's, Witches and others.

Welcome to the home of Highcross Quarter and Cross Quarter sabbat information. Run from Loughborough and Leicester in England by Wiccan's, Wizards and Witches engaged in rite and ritual of the Highcross quarter sabbats for others who are interested in the Highcross quarter sabbats and Wicca.

Our group of practicing Wiccan's, Wizards and Witches along with some neo-pagans are based in Leicester and Loughborough, Leicestershire in the East Midlands of England with associated groups in Nottingham, Birmingham and next also in Lincoln.

Wicca and Witchcraft out of necessity have always needed to be discrete in their ways and methods. It is our hope that this website will enable us to keep in touch with our fellow wiccan's and witches as well as further the knowledge of wicca and witchcraft and the Highcross and Cross Quarter Sabbats in a way that will maintain our anonymity to those outside of our circle who would wish us harm due to prejudice and ignorance.

It is a time to invoke rites and ritual to rid ourselves of our negative aspects and weak points ready for the new year.
What's in a name?

Throughout history various faiths have used astronomy to guide their festivals and occasions in faith.

This is certainly so with pagans and wiccan's throughout the ages who have used markers defined by the pagan Highcross and cross quarter days set within the solstices and Equinoxes.

With our coven, here in Leicester, Leicestershire, England this is the same today. We still use the markers set by Highcross and Cross Quarter days to define our calendar which in turn sets the hour and day for ritual.

Yesteryear in the time of our ancestors Eostara was an occasion of sowing and setting seed.

Beltaine is really regarded as the most important Sabbat after Samhain. The commencement of Summer. It is a sabbat of fertility, but mostly it is a sabbat of joy and quickening. Named from the Celtic god of flame Bel, the igniter of fires is a regular element of Beltaine sabbats. It's association of flame also makes Beltaine a sabbat of purification and cleansing.

Elvaston Castle Country Park - Near Derby - A favourite event we always try to attend. Good fun with old friends.

Elvaston Castle Country Park

Well its time again for an old favourite of ours. Elvaston Country Park, frequently used by us for our Samhain Sabbat.

Those of us who can get to the annual picnic in the park find it a nice change to see the park in daylight. Morrigan and I (Aeshia) always try to get to this event.
