About the Secrecy Surrounding our Identities.

Unfortunately as with many groups involved with "Mystery" faiths and traditions such as Wicca, Witchcraft and Satanism etc it is not possible for us to identify either ourselves or our group members in anyway.

This practice is common amongst adherents to our faiths and traditions due to our oaths of secrecy.

Please don't feel that because of this we have anything to hide as we do not.

We are happy to discuss most matters... you need only ask.

This secrecy on the part of many wiccan's, witches and wizards who as followers of the wiccan faith and those who have association with earth based faith and occult oriented traditions is out of necessity driven by fear of persecution by followers of mainstream religions and others within our own communities who through lack of understanding and prejudice may harass or incite hatred against us.

This fear is well founded... as intolerance towards “wiccan's”, “witches” and “wizards” is a matter of public record. As is the secrecy with which “wiccan's”, “witches” and “wizards” have to lead the religious side of their lives.

Again, please don't feel at all offended by the fact we stay behind a veil as far as our identity is concerned.

As we approach Mabon we find ourselves drawn to the embrace of the darkness.

This is a time when the veil that separates the worlds of those here with us now and those who have gone on ahead are at their thinnest.

Those of us with gifts of awareness into the realm of the departed should clear the mind and prepare to hear and see what may be made plain to us at this time.

It is a time to invoke rites and ritual to rid ourselves of our negative aspects and weak points ready for the new year.
What's in a name?

Throughout history various faiths have used astronomy to guide their festivals and occasions in faith.

This is certainly so with pagans and wiccan's throughout the ages who have used markers defined by the pagan High Cross and cross quarter days set within the solstices and Equinoxes.

With our coven, here in Leicester, Leicestershire, England this is the same today. We still use the markers set by High Cross and Cross Quarter days to define our calendar which in turn sets the hour and day for ritual.

Yesteryear in the time of our ancestors Eostara was an occasion of sowing and setting seed.

Beltaine is really regarded as the most important Sabbat after Samhain. The commencement of Summer. It is a sabbat of fertility, but mostly it is a sabbat of joy and quickening. Named from the Celtic god of flame Bel, the igniter of fires is a regular element of Beltaine sabbats. It's association of flame also makes Beltaine a sabbat of purification and cleansing.

Mabon was the second harvest, and as such becomes another holiday of thanksgiving.

It is also the day when darkness once more overtakes light, and so it is a day of planning, reflection, and the contemplation of mysteries.

Elvaston Castle Country Park - Near Derby - A favourite event we always try to attend. Good fun with old friends.

Elvaston Castle Country Park

Well its time again for an old favourite of ours. Elvaston Country Park, frequently used by us for our Samhain Sabbat.

Those of us who can get to the annual picnic in the park find it a nice change to see the park in daylight. Morrigan and I (Aeshia) always try to get to this event.
